In the first quarter of 2022, the Nigerian gaming market saw significant activity in the free-to-play segment. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top 5 games, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Candy Crush Saga, published by King, showed a dynamic performance. Weekly revenue fluctuated, peaking at around $15.3K in the last week of February. Downloads saw a downward trend, starting at 43.5K in late December and dropping to 24.4K by the end of March. Active users, however, remained relatively stable, ranging from 584K at the beginning of January to around 634K at the end of March.

Subway Surfers by SYBO Games experienced modest revenue growth, with a noticeable increase to $147 in the final week of March. Downloads were relatively stable, hovering around 17.4K to 33.1K, while active users maintained a steady range between 322K and 348K throughout the quarter.

EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile Soccer from Electronic Arts saw a notable rise in revenue mid-quarter, reaching approximately $1.8K in mid-February. Downloads peaked at 24.1K in late February, and weekly active users increased from 72.4K at the end of December to 103.8K by the end of March.
